Weekend shows in Rosemont trigger traffic advisory

Heavy traffic is expected in multiple areas of Rosemont during the weekend of Feb. 16 and 17 for the International Motorcycle Show at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, the Shen Yun shows at the Rosemont Theatre and the Elton John shows at the Allstate Arena.

The village's public safety department is advising motorists passing through Rosemont to allow extra time for their travels.

Attendees of Saturday's 8 p.m. Elton John show are asked to arrive early and be patient going through security. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

Lunt Avenue from Mannheim will be used for drop-offs, with the actual drop-off area being behind Target and not on the street. Motorists parking for the event can use the Mannheim Road lot entrance near the large marquee sign, the Lee Street/Lunt Avenue entrance, or the Chestnut Avenue entrance off Touhy.
