Re-election deserved
As a Glen Ellyn community member, I have paid a lot of attention to District 41's school board over the last 10 years. I am compelled to make some observations about the current board and the upcoming election.
Three seats are open and two current members are running for re-election, Stephanie Clark and Kurt Buchholz. I can say without a doubt, they have represented not only the students, but the community as a whole, better than any other board members in this time frame. They have respected the taxpayers, looking to be responsible stewards of the public dollar. This is not very common on school boards.
Their opponents' desires will center on your wallets and they will certainly raise your taxes. Jessica Buttimer, in fact, said at a board meeting, "A couple hundred dollar tax decrease is insignificant". This attitude shouldn't be anywhere near a public board.
The district is in good financial shape, a good portion of that is courtesy of the efforts of Clark and Buchholz. They deserve re-election. Please vote for them on April 2, the top two on the ballot, Stephanie Clark and Kurt Buchholz.
