Looking for face time with state representative

All constituents should get to voice their opinions to their state representative. My problem in that regard living in Illinois District 52 is that my state rep, David McSweeney, is going to Jasper County Republican meetings 250 miles from the district he serves, while his phone always goes to voicemail and there is no one at his office in Cary.

It seems to me that not being accessible to constituents is exactly how a lot of elected officials were swept out of office in November 2018. Elected officials serve the public, despite the contrary belief of the opposite.

If Rep/ McSweeney intends to run for higher office in 2020, that's certainly his prerogative, though I find it interesting that a guy who despises government has been trying to get into government since 1998. When he's not laying the groundwork for his eventual campaign downstate or tweeting about an imaginary "jobs tax" that he's making up for the purpose of shouting into his right-wing echo chamber, can he at least acknowledge all of his constituents for the office he currently holds?

I suppose if I have to go 250 miles to get face time with my state rep, that's what I'll have to do.
