A Wheaton letter to the editor: Kim Harrod is apoplectic with Walter Williams' column, "Is reality optional on gender?" belief that XY chromosomes denote a male of the human species.
Kim Harrod is apoplectic with Walter Williams' column, "Is reality optional on gender?" belief that XY chromosomes denote a male of the human species. Ms. Harrod believes having the XY chromosome and physically appearing like a male does not mean you are necessarily a male.
To be fair, Ms. Harrod believes that maleness is a complex interplay of genes, chromosomes, brain chemistry, a belief that has never come close to being scientifically proven. However, by doubting the above, we become the enemy. Personally, one can claim to be anything - animal, vegetable, or mineral - I would have no problem with any of your beliefs. The problem appears when you and others insist and bully people to believe it is something other than what it appears to be.
You should not go about trying to fool Mother Nature.
