Shop 'n' Swirl Wine Walk planned for downtown Grayslake

GRAYSLAKE - The Downtown Grayslake Small Business group is sponsoring the first "Shop 'n' Swirl Wine Walk" from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 9 in the Village Center.

Sixteen businesses in or around the village's historic downtown will be pouring wine, serving snacks and offering special pricing and other events for participating shoppers, said Mellysa Kaniok, owner of Closet Traders and spokesperson for the business group.

Tickets are $25 per person through March 8 and $30 at the door of the Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum. The price includes a commemorative wineglass, more than 20 wines to taste at local business, discounts and the chance to win a large gift basket filled with local fare. Tickets are available online at grayslakeshopnswirl.eventbrite.com.

Proceeds will benefit the Grayslake Heritage Center Foundation, which raises money for programs and exhibits at the Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum.

Participating businesses include: 27 Houses, Alwin Anthony Salon, American Family Insurance, Bella Vie Studio / Cashmore Investments, CBD Grayslake, Chebney Sports Medicine, Closet Traders, Counseling Center of Grayslake, Midtown Home + Market, Something's Brewing, Tanglewood Boutique, This Old Book, Twisted Burger, Unique Indeed and The Vine - Martini & Wine Bar.

The Village Center is the area bounded by Route 83, Lake Street, Route 120 and Central Park.
