Be honest about late-term abortions
I'm puzzled. How can I have lived to be this age and not met a woman or family who has committed infanticide? It must be a frequent practice according to the media coverage about late term abortions.
I have heard women who've had this tragedy come into their lives late in their pregnancies. They weep as they recall hearing the news that a baby they are carrying has died in utero or that at the birth it was discovered that the fetus had developed such severe deformities that death is eminent. These babies are held and loved as they do leave life.
An area hospital has now a place for families to grieve at the loss of a newborn away from the families receiving joyful news about a live, healthy birth. Infanticide. I don't think so.
Ninety percent of all abortions in the U.S. occur in the first trimester of 12 weeks of pregnancy. Let's make women's health care safe and available and trust women, their families and their health care providers. Be anti-abortion if your conscience demands it, but don't contribute to more false information about a heartbreaking situation.
