Carpentersville
• Yovani L. Hernandez, 21, of Carpentersville, was charged Saturday with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without a driver's license and various other traffic violations, records show. He is accused of having a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.141 percent. Police said he attempted to flee officers who were trying to initiate a traffic stop near Robin Road and Kennedy Drive before driving into a snow pile and running away from the vehicle. Hernandez's next court date is Feb. 28.
Kane County
• Jason Madrigal, 44, of the 1600 block of Reckinger Road, Aurora, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property at 9:51 p.m. Feb. 1, according to a sheriff's report. He is accused of kicking and damaging a door on the 1600 block of Reckinger.
• A resident of the 38W600 block of Binnie Road near West Dundee reported a case of identity theft at 2:28 p.m. Wednesday after being alerted by his bank that someone tried to cash a $46,680 check. The check was canceled, but the resident then discovered that on Jan. 21, a $39,950 check in the resident's name also had been withdrawn.
