Outlook: After easily surging to the regional championship last weekend, host Antioch will be well-represented in this sectional with 11 individuals competing for coach Wilbur Borrero in this powerful meet. There are a couple of star wrestlers to keep an eye, starting with Old Dominion-bound Grayslake Central senior Alex Cramer, who is 40-0 at 170 this season after winning the 160-pound state title last year with a 45-1 record. University of Buffalo-bound Carmel senior Riley Palm (25-1) went 40-0 on his way to the 138-pound state crown as a junior, and he has his sights set squarely on bringing home back-to-back titles next weekend. The Sequoits have five individuals with state meet experience, including Barbarise, who has already reached the state meet twice. Grayslake Central sophomore Adrien Cramer has also emerged as an elite wrestler this season as he takes a 38-0 record into the sectional meet with a return trip downstate pretty much a lock for him at 182 pounds. Jens placed fifth in the state for the Rams as a freshman, but he took second to Blonski last weekend at regionals. Carmel's Hoy takes a 33-1 record into the big meet this weekend with high hopes over the next two weekends.

Outlook: Regional champion Libertyville leads the Lake County area with nine individual qualifiers at this powerful sectional meet, and Warren has numerous top-notch individuals competing here with four regional champions ready to battle. The Blue Devils' lower weights were fantastic last weekend with undefeated Sawyer Nash (36-0 at 106), Austin Nash (22-1 at 113), Cam Domke (34-3 at 120) and Joel Vandervere (third in state in 2018) all set for potential sectional crowns. University of Illinois-bound Libertyville teammates Danny Pucino (third in state in 2018) and Michael Gunther (36-3) are also elite individuals to focus on, while Grant's Justin Brown (182) and Mundelein's Jason Guadarrama (220) also brought home regional titles one week ago. Mundelein would have been much more well represented in this sectional, but elite seniors Logan Kvien (fourth in state in 2018) and Reese Durlacher (two-time state qualifier) are both out for the season due to injuries. Stevenson's Frezza is a two-time qualifier who won a regional title last weekend at Dundee-Crown. Frezza pinned Domke in a dual meet before Domke posted a 6-3 decision over Frezza at the Lake County meet. Lake Zurich teammates McGee (113) and Mrazek (170) also won regional crowns at D-C.
