Hampshire American Legion Auxiliary to meet Feb. 11

The Hampshire American Legion Auxiliary, Haderer-Eineke, Unit 680 meets at 7 p.m. on the second Monday of the month at the Resource Bank, 135 W. Oak Knoll Drive, Hampshire. It begins with refreshments and the meeting begins at 7:30 p.m.

Those interested in joining this women's volunteer group that supports all veterans are welcome to join the next meeting on Monday, Feb. 11.

At the January meeting, they discussed making a donation in the memory of Dorothy Juanita Crome to the Great Lakes Naval Base USO. They also reported the passing of Arlene Lois Connor on Jan. 28. Sympathy cards have been sent to the families. The auxiliary will perform a ceremony honoring Crome and Connor's membership and their work done for the unit at the Feb. 11 meeting.

They discussed attending the district meeting on March 16. It will be held at the local auxiliary president's house. If you would like to attend or join the unit, call Vivian Knell at (847) 344-7420 for more information, directions and address.

Donations can be made to the unit at any time. They are always looking for small toiletry items, coffee, decaf, sugar packets,creamers, candy and gum for the men and women that have served the nation.
