Put a scare into corrupt politicians
Unless you live under a rock, you can be pretty sure that many, if not most, of our elected and appointed officials, have a primary goal: once in office, to stay in office. They are their own No. 1 priority (although their smooth talking may lead you to believe that the people of Chicago and the state of Illinois are actually No. 1). The proof is in looking at how long some of these people have been in power (Madigan, Cullerton, Burke, etc.) and the city and state keep getting in worse shape, while their personal wealth grows amazingly.
Here's a possible solution to help get the politics of Chicago and the state of Illinois out of the corruptive abyss they have been in for so long: Start spreading rumors that there are a lot more moles in the Chicago City Counsel and other Chicago offices, and in our state legislature and state offices, than anyone could imagine.
Just think of the stress and panic most of our current politicians would have. Beautiful. Such an act might actually start them thinking about the people of our city and state instead of themselves. What a concept.
Then, as election times approach, see who decides not to run again, who decides to retire, squirms the most, who avoids the questions with vague non-relevant answers. Although they are mostly all gifted with talking a lot but actually saying nothing, interviews may start to get interesting.
