Get your tickets for 'Oscar Shorts' Film Festival

The Barrington Cultural Commission is gearing up for its seventh annual "Oscar Shorts" Film Festival, held at the Catlow Theater in downtown Barrington.

The first showing is Saturday, Feb. 16, with subsequent showings Saturday, Feb. 23, and Sunday, Feb. 24. The showings begin at noon and run until 4 p.m. and feature the 10 Oscar-nominated short films in the animated and live action categories.

"Interest in the Oscar-nominated short films has increased every year since 2013, when we first partnered with the Catlow to bring them to Barrington," said Jack Schaefer, a member of the Barrington Cultural Commission and organizer of the event.

"It's a fun day, with contests to guess the Oscar winners and a great way to spend a February afternoon. People come from miles around and have made it an annual tradition."

Wine and beer will be available at the Catlow during the festival, as well as food selections from the adjacent Showtime Eatery and surrounding restaurants.

Tickets for the "Oscar Shorts" are now on sale and may only be purchased online. Go to www.barrington-il.gov/oscars or call (847) 304-3406 for ticketing assistance. The event is sponsored in part by Quintessential Barrington. Proceeds benefit the Barrington Cultural Commission.
