Tour the Adlai E. Stevenson home

Public tours of the Adlai E. Stevenson Historic Home in Mettawa will be 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5. Visitors can drop in to celebrate Adlai E. Stevenson II Day in Illinois and learn about this Illinois governor and ambassador to the United Nations. Tour his home, a National Historic Landmark, at your own pace. Stevenson, an influential American statesman known as "the man from Libertyville", wrote speeches, reflected on world events and found solace in the landscape at his house, south of Route 60 at 25200 N. St. Mary's Road. Admission is $5 for Lake County residents and $7 for nonresident. Register online at https://www.lcfpd.org/events/ or pay at the door.
