Lake County offices to reopen Friday

Lake County government offices will reopen on Friday, after being closed Wednesday and Thursday due to the dangerously low temperatures in the region.

The county issued a statement Thursday morning thanking everyone for their patience during the brief disruption in county services. Many employees involved in essential services and emergency operations continued to report to work to keep community members safe and maintain infrastructure throughout the extreme weather event, according to the county.

The county has put together a web page at www.lakecountyil.gov/4143/Safety-Tips-and-Resources-for-Extreme-Co for residents to access information on warming center locations, snowplow operations and safety tips. The county also will continue to post updates on its Facebook page and website.
