Filippone nets 35 as Antioch loses to North Chicago
Dan Filippone scored a season-high 35 points, but it wasn't enough for Antioch's boys basketball team, which dropped an 84-77 decision to host North Chicago in Northern Lake County Conference action on Friday night.
Antioch fell to 11-7 and 3-3 in the NLCC, while North Chicago improved to 10-14 and 6-2.
Filippone sank 14 field goals, including one 3-pointer, and went 6 of 8 from the foul line. He's had three 34-point games this season.
Grayslake North 76, Wauconda 42: Ryan Connolly's 22 points led three Knights in double figures, as the host school won the Northern Lake County Conference game.
Tony Hines and Jason Donohue added 17 and 15 points, respectively, for Grayslake North (11-10, 5-3).
Donovan Carter scored 11 points for Wauconda (10-12, 3-5).
Vernon Hills 38, Highland Park 33: The host Cougars picked up the win to improve to 7-17 and 1-7 in the Central Suburban League North Division.
Highland Park fell to 10-10 and 4-4.
