Music lineup set for Aurora Food Truck Festival
Aurora Downtown has announced the music lineup for its May 3 Food Truck Festival.
Todd Kessler will headline this year's event at 7:30 p.m. at the Millennium Plaza gazebo stage on Stolp Avenue in downtown Aurora.
Fans of NBC's "The Voice" might recognize Kessler from being chosen as part of Team CeeLo. But Kessler is a folk-rock star in his own right. His solo debut album, "About Memory," was well-received and earned the Chicagoland native high praise.
Joybird will open for Kessler at 6 p.m. Joybird is Chicago songwriter, fiddler and multi-instrumentalist Jess McIntosh, who will be joined by her band comprised of traditional and improvisational musicians.
May 3 will begin Aurora Downtown's series of free, live music happenings that runs throughout the summer, organizers said.
The concerts coincide with the fourth annual Food Truck Festival that the nonprofit group hosts as a free community event from 5 to 10 p.m. along Benton Street.
The night is part of First Fridays, in which several venues open to the public for a night of art and culture on the first Friday of the month in downtown.
Aurora Downtown also is kicking off a new "Come In" campaign that encourages people to visit the many shops, museums, salons, restaurants and more that the central business district offers.
