Household chemical disposal available

The Solid Waste Agency of Lake County will host household chemical waste events Feb. 9 and 25 at its facility, 1311 N. Estes St., Gurnee. Appointments are required. Collections are for residential waste only and business waste will not be accepted. The collections are free for Illinois residents only. Allowable items include: CFL bulbs, unwanted prescription, over-the-counter medicines and supplements (people and pet), household cleaners, gasoline, garden chemicals, pesticides, oil-based paints (no latex) and household chemicals.
