Aurora police: Man spit on, tried to headbutt officer

A Chicago man faces felony charges after Aurora police said he spat on and tried to headbutt an officer who was responding to a disturbance call.

Tony Grayson-Greene, 24, of the 100 block of North Lorel Avenue, is charged with felony aggravated battery to a police office and resisting arrest after the attack at 11:15 p.m. Jan. 17, police said. Authorities had been called for a disturbance at an apartment complex on the 900 block of Oliver Avenue on the city's near west side.

Grayson-Greene became hostile toward officers and spat on and tried to headbutt an officer while being arrested for resisting police, authorities said.

Grayson-Green also was wanted on a warrant out of Kendall County, police said.

At the time of his arrest, Kane County court records show, Grayson-Greene was free on a personal recognizance bond after a September 2018 arrest on charges of aggravated battery to a police office and resisting arrest.

Grayson-Greene is being held at the Kane County jail on $30,000 bail, meaning he must post $3,000 to be released while the cases are pending. He is next due in court on both cases Friday.

Aggravated battery to a police officer is a felony with a punishment ranging from probation to up to seven years in prison.
