No injuries reported from Palatine house fire

No injuries were reported from a Palatine house fire late Monday that officials say remains under investigation.

Firefighters called at 10:34 p.m. to the two-story, single-family house in the 600 block of East Thornhill Lane arrived five minutes later to find flames coming from a side of the structure.

Police met the home's residents, who already were outside, and evacuated residents in a next-door house as a precaution.

Fire officials said the blaze was declared under control in about 30 minutes. At least 25 firefighters were on the scene, with Palatine receiving assistance from Arlington Heights and Buffalo Grove fire departments. Officials said the Long Grove Fire Protection District sent a unit to provide coverage from a Palatine station to handle any additional calls.
