Kane County
• The front door to a shop on the 700 block of Terry Drive near Aurora was pried open between 7 p.m. Jan. 11 and 8 a.m. Jan. 12, and various tools and equipment were stolen. The estimated value of the stolen goods was $4,620.
• Carlos Jesus Romero-Alfaro, 28, of the 600 block of 11th Avenue in St. Charles, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, aggravated resisting arrest, reckless driving, and illegal transportation of alcohol about 11 p.m. Jan. 23. Romero-Alfaro crashed into a snowbank while doing doughnuts in the parking lot of the Kane County Judicial Center and sheriff's office, 37W700 block of Route 38 near St. Charles, according to a sheriff's report. Romero-Alfaro refused to get out of his car and had an open can of beer between his legs, the report said.
• A beige Michael Kors purse, containing $100 and credit cards, was stolen between 5:20 a.m. and 6 a.m. Friday from a vehicle on the 34W900 block of North James Drive near St. Charles. The victim was warming up her car before driving to work.
