District 25 appoints administrator, two principals

Arlington Heights Elementary District 25 has appointed a new administrator and two principals for the 2019-20 school year.

Current Thomas Middle School Principal Brian Kaye has been named the district's next assistant superintendent for personnel and planning, replacing Jake Chung, who has been hired as the next superintendent in Villa Park-based Salt Creek Elementary District 48, effective July 1.

Kaye, who has been Thomas' principal for eight years, now will oversee human resources for the district, which employs more than 800 full- and part-time staff.

He will be paid a base salary of $152,500.

Lori Naumowicz, the current Thomas associate principal, will take over the top spot this summer. Since arriving at Thomas in 2016, she's been involved in the school's curriculum alignment, student extracurricular activities, construction and building safety, staff professional development, parent-teacher partnerships and student social-emotional development, officials said.

Naumowicz will be paid $127,000.

At South Middle School, the district's other school for grades 6-8, Jim Morrison will become the next principal, replacing Piper Boston, who will become principal at Windsor Elementary. Current Windsor Principal Shelley Fabrizio is set to retire, officials said.

Morrison has been principal at Emerson Middle School in Park Ridge for eight years and also is an adjunct professor at North Park University, where he works with students interested in earning principal certifications.

He will be paid $148,920.

The new appointments were approved by the school board Jan. 17.
