Two from DuPage win honors in statewide talent show

Two contestants from DuPage County won honors in the recent statewide talent show sponsored by the Illinois Association of Agricultural Fairs in Springfield.

Enrica Uhlen of Downers Grove, the senior representative for DuPage County, placed third overall with a vocal solo. She won last year's talent competition at the DuPage County Fair with her rendition of Christina Aguilera's hit. "Something's Got a Hold on Me!" and performed the same song in Springfield.

A graduate of Downers Grove South High School, Uhlen, 19, is studying at North Central College in Naperville.

She has been singing most her life, and was one of the top finishers in the DuPage County Fair competition when she was 5 years old.

In the junior division, DuPage was represented by Katherine Kostner.

Singing along with her ukulele playing, Katherine finished fifth in the statewide competition.
