Believe Project: $100 to help friend with financial challenges
Our Believe Project comes to an end today after responding to 60 people eager to help others over the past two months.
Today's recipient of a $100 bill is Beverley Caliendo of Hoffman Estates. Here is an excerpt of her story:
"My high school friend lost her husband to suicide nine years ago and she raises her special-needs son on her own.
"She has a job just one or two days a week and is struggling financially.
"She is looking for part-time work but is limited because she has to be home at 3:30 p.m. for her son. She is always positive and grateful for her son.
"I can't imagine what her days must be like with the constant need to be watching his every move. I know she could use this wonderful opportunity to help her through this tight time."
