Palatine man pleads guilty to possessing child porn

A 57-year-old Palatine man who authorities say downloaded child pornography onto his home computer pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography, a class 2 felony.

In exchange for his guilty plea, Gregory Polinsky was sentenced Wednesday to 618 days in jail and three years probation. He was also ordered to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, court records show.

In addition, Polinsky was ordered to pay $1,649 in fines.

Palatine police investigated the case in cooperation with the Cook County Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
