Lake County Treasurer Kim receives 'Drum Major Award'

Lake County Treasurer Holly Kim received the "Drum Major Award" this week at Waukegan Township's 17th annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dreamers Breakfast.

The award is given by the township to local community leaders and pastors for their integrity and contribution to the greater good. Kim was selected for her dedication and commitment for bettering Lake County communities, according to an announcement from the treasurer's office.

"As we celebrate the life and legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., we also salute Holly Kim for being a trailblazer as the first woman elected as treasurer," Waukegan Township Supervisor Patricia Jones said. "We look forward to working together to make a profound impact on our community."
