Nobody injured after limo ends up in Fox River

Slick road conditions Saturday caused a limousine to lose control and slide into the Fox River in Algonquin, authorities said.

The vehicle, occupied only by the driver, was heading south on River Road at 3:09 p.m. when it left the roadway and ended up partially submerged in the water, Algonquin police Sgt. Timothy Cooney said.

The driver escaped the limo unharmed by the time first responders arrived, he said. No citations were issued.

Algonquin police are urging drivers to be wary of black ice and snowy conditions.
