New service for property owners

A new service called Property Check is available to Lake County homeowners to help fight property theft and mortgage fraud. The free service has been implemented by Lake County Recorder of Deeds Mary Ellen Vanderventer and is available 24/7. Residents can sign up through the recorder's website to receive notifications via email and/or text message when a document has been recorded against a specific name or property (residential address). Residents who do not have access to a computer can call (847) 377-2575 for assistance.
