Hanover Township tutoring program to begin for spring semester

It is hard to believe that half of the school year is already over!

The Hanover Township Tutoring Services Program kicks off on Tuesday, Feb. 12, at Streamwood High School, 701 W. Schaumburg Road, Streamwood.

For $45 per semester, the program offers board certified teachers for students in second to 12th grade, who can teach and assist students with their academics.

"Last year, 200 students participated in the township's tutoring program," said Brian P. McGuire, Hanover Township Supervisor. "I would encourage parents who have any concerns about their child's academic performance to contact the township."

Tutoring groups are developed based on age, subject matter and learning needs that are identified by referring teachers.

Children who attend regularly and bring their school materials/assignments to each session improve in academic performance and become more self-confident.
