Pot's slippery slope

Why does Gov. Pritzker push immediately to legalize marijuana? We don't know how or why he plans to have marijuana regulated. I am concerned with many potential problems including an increase in auto accidents and crime caused by marijuana influence while driving. This seems like a slippery slope and not in the best interest of our citizenry.
