Save-A-Pet Receives Charity Navigator's highest rating for 5th consecutive year

Submitted by Save-A-Pet

For the fifth consecutive year, Charity Navigator has awarded Save-A-Pet Adoption Center their highest possible four-star rating for good governance, best practices and consistently executing its mission in a fiscally responsible way throughout 2018. In 2018, only 11 percent of the charities evaluated by Charity Navigator received at least five consecutive four-star evaluations.

According to Development Manager David Diaz, "This four-star distinction demonstrates that Save-A-Pet's programs and services are a solid investment, particularly regarding fundraising, which is assessed by measuring the cost of generating $1 in charitable contributions. Save-A-Pet spends about $.08 to raise a dollar. This ratio is far better than the national average of $.20 and allows us to use more of the funds raised toward the rescued animals in our care. We are very proud of the outstanding work we do and our four-star rating with Charity Navigator will make sure that donors understand that a gift to Save-A-Pet is a sound gift."

Charity Navigator is a nonprofit agency and is America's premier independent charity evaluator which helps charitable givers make intelligent giving decisions by providing in-depth, objective ratings and analysis of the financial health and accountability and transparency of America's largest charities. The organization evaluates more than 9,000 charities and provides basic data on the rest of the 1.8 million U.S. nonprofits.

As a true non-kill animal rescue and adoption center, Save-A-Pet is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and is solely funded by donor generosity.
