Stop forcing beliefs on us

It didn't take long for the left to get re-energized from the recent House victory. Just the other evening, Jimmy Kimmel was throwing stones from "left" field at the folks who have chosen to fund a southern border wall. In short, he indirectly referred to these citizens as uneducated meth-heads.

Here is something for Kimmel and all folks with the same opinions. Half the citizenry (non-drug heads! educated!) is sick and tired of a single-minded, high-and-mighty, holier-than-thou, judgmental, insulting and money-grabbing approach to governance in this country. They, also, are sick of a political class (state and federal) that looks at the citizenry as lemmings to be herded while accomplishing nothing. Additionally, they don't need you or a personality of fame to tell them how to think.

Stop the incessant political pursuit of forcing your beliefs/ideologies down everyone's throat and garnishing other's money to accomplish them. Leave the different minded folks alone. It's their choice. Singularity of thought is not a requirement in this country.

If you are such a strong believer (heart, soul and mind) in a more liberal society, then, like the wall contributors, shut your traps and invest your personal nonpolitical time and money to address your agenda. Do it on your own.

Immigration, how many immigrants have you personally sponsored and taken full responsibility for? Base incomes, how much have you donated to this effort? Upper education for all, where is the 501c3 so that you and the like-minded can contribute? Health insurance for the non-covered, where is the not-for-profit for that? Is this too much work and commitment for something in which you believe?

Hummm … Let's see the outcomes. Your social issues addressed. Insults and name-calling stops. Political football eliminated.

We'd need to find something else to divide us.
