Pakistani-Descent Physicians Society gave a scholarship to College of Lake County
The Lake County College received scholarship last week to help give students pay for the cost of higher education from Pakistani Decent Physician Society.
During a ceremony at the Mayor of Waukegan office on Friday, December 21, 2018, between 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Dr. Rahat Shaikh President PPS announced the Pakistani Doctors was providing $2500 to pay the scholarship for the five students of Lake County College in Grayslake, IL. The scholarship will be divided amongst the 5 students who were present at the ceremony held at Waukegan City Hall. Honorable Mayor, City Of Waukegan Sam Cunningham and the whole community were highly appreciative of the efforts of Pakistani Physicians Society.
Feel like Christmas arrived early in Lake County College in the form of huge amount in donations from the Pakistani Doctors from Chicagoland.
The Pakistani Decent Physician Society also donates a separate huge check for Most Blessed Trinity Parish Food Pantry and Shiloh Baptist Church Food Pantry.
Several notable donations made in this year 2018 by the Pakistani decent physician society include the donated $5,000 to the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation to buy bulletproof vests few weeks ago.
Dr. Rahat Sheikh current president of PPS said during the event. "We adopt America as home, this country gives us everything we also responsible to build and better shape this country. Pakistani decent physician society will provide funding in future years for additional projects in Lake County and several places in Chicagoland. This is a part of a vision for the year 2018 (Civic engagement) PDPS will be continually supporting city of Waukegan in its ongoing projects in future."
The Pakistan Physicians Society (PPS) of Illinois is a part and local chapter of the Association of Pakistani Physicians of North America (APPNA). APPNA is one of the largest ethnic medical societies in North America.

At the end of the event Dr. Rahat Sheikh thanks all attendees and the PPS team for help and support, especially Dr. Sajid Mehmood and Dr. Amin Nadeem who helped to arrange the particular event.
