Police: Three juveniles found with stolen van in Aurora
Two 16-year-olds and a 12-year-old were seen getting out of a stolen van on Flagg Street at 4:44 p.m. Dec. 29, according to a news release Thursday from the Aurora Police Department.
A person had called 911 about the van because it had been at that location for several days. When Aurora police showed up, the three juveniles ran from it but were caught, the release said.
The vehicle was stolen around 10:40 p.m. Dec. 21 from the 500 block of East Downer Place after its owner had left it running unattended, police said.
The two 16-year-olds, one from Aurora and the other from Chicago Heights, were taken to youth detention while the 12- year-old, who is from Aurora, was released to a parent.
The 16-year-old Aurora resident was charged with a probation violation.
