'Lincoln's Watch' talk set for Sunday in Waukegan
The Waukegan Historical Society, in conjunction with the pop-up exhibit "Abraham Lincoln: A Man Of His Times, A Man For All Times," has Doug Stiles returning to tell the story "Lincoln's Watch" at 1 and 4 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 6, in the Theatre at the Jack Benny Center for the Arts, 39 Jack Benny Drive, Waukegan. In 1861, Lincoln brought his watch to a Washington D.C. jeweler to be repaired. Did the jeweler, Jonathan Dillon, add an inscription inside the watch? Hear the story of how this question was answered as told by Stiles, a descendant of Dillon.
