Kirk Players announces auditions for spring children's show
Kirk Players will hold open auditions for its spring children's show, "Fairy Tales & Fables," from 7-9:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14, and Wednesday, Jan. 16, at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, 10 S. Lake St., Mundelein.
If necessary, there will be callbacks Thursday, Jan. 17.
"Fairy Tales & Fables" is an original compilation of some of the most heartwarming and fantastic stories ever written from Aesop, the Brothers Grimm, Hans Christian Anderson and Mother Goose.
"This will be a great experience for children," said Patrick Blake, Kirk Players' director for "Fairy Tales & Fables,"
"So many of our golden rules are based on the wit and wisdom of centuries-old fables and tales. Our young performers will have the fun of imparting these wonderful 'lessons' from the mouths of lions, mice, trolls and other fascinating characters."
Roles are available for children ages 6 and older, teens and adults. Script materials will be available at auditions for cold readings. No preparation is necessary.
Kirk Players encourages students planning to audition to bring a current self-photo to accompany the audition application.
"Fairy Tales & Fables" will open at 7 p.m. Friday, March 29, at Mundelein High School Theatre, with performances to follow at 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, March 30, and 2 p.m. Sunday, March 31.
Rehearsals will take place from 7-9:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, beginning Monday, Jan. 21, at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church.
