Annual prayer breakfast is Feb. 7
The Arlington Heights Mayor's 32nd Annual Community Prayer Breakfast will be from 7 to 9 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, at the Doubletree Hotel, 75 Algonquin Road, Arlington Heights, just west of Arlington Heights Road.
The event features a breakfast buffet, Scripture readings, music and a keynote address on "Prayer through Grace" by Attorney George Drost and his wife, Beth Drost. Professional Irish tenor Paddy Homan will again be providing music.
Prayers and readings will be offered by Sister Sharon Glumb, Sisters of the Living Word; Joan Brody Garkisch, a community volunteer; John Glueckert of Glueckert's Funeral Home; and Senior Pastor Colin Smith of The Orchard Church. Mayor Tom Hayes will also address the gathering.
Jon Ridler, executive director of the Arlington Heights Chamber of Commerce, is the emcee.
