Longtime Barrington employee heads into retirement
Barrington Public Works Director Mark Werksman recently wrapped up his lengthy tenure with the village.
Werksman, a Barrington native, joined the village's public works department in 1976 and served in other capacities. He became public works director in 2012, a job that required him to supervise many areas including snow removal, wastewater treatment, road and sewer repair, floodwater mitigation, tree removal and streetscape beautification.
Officials said Werksman officially departed village employment Dec. 21. He intends to spend more time with his family and fish at his cabin in Wisconsin's Northwoods.
