Sugar Grove gas station robbed

A BP gasoline station at Route 47 and Jericho Road in Sugar Grove Township was robbed around 2:45 a.m. Friday, according to the Kane County Sheriff's Department.

Two men entered the station's store wearing masks. They damaged some items and beat the clerk, took cash from a register and ran off.

A police dog tracked them to a nearby neighborhood before losing the scent.

The clerk was treated at the scene by paramedics.

A photo from a security camera shows one person wearing blue jeans and a bright blue jacket with a "C" emblem on the chest.

The other appeared to be wearing black jeans and a black hooded sweatshirt with the word "Knights" across the chest.
