Phillips 49, Lakes 42: At Maine East, the Eagles dropped their tournament opener.

Lakes (1-9) was led by Brad Cherry with 16 points and Leighsean Triplett with 15.

The Eagles resume play at 4:30 p.m. Thursday against Argo.

Lane Tech 49, Vernon Hills 38: At Maine East, the Cougars lost their tournament opener.

Vernon Hills (2-11) plays Chicago Bulls Prep at 6 p.m. Thursday.
