Thank you to animal welfare volunteers

Chicago and Cook County are blessed with many animal shelters and sanctuaries that provide housing, food and medical treatment for dogs, cats, horses, rabbits and other companion animals. These organizations employ highly professional, dedicated and talented administrators, staff members and volunteers. This includes individuals affiliated with PAWS Chicago, the Anti-Cruelty Society, the Hooved Animal Humane Society and the Hooved Animal Protection Society. Our fellow creatures suffer in cold and inclement weather conditions, and it's reassuring that there are many proactive and compassionate humans who strive to rescue them and ultimately save their lives.
