Believe Project: $100 to thank mom for her support
Today's recipient of a $100 bill through the Believe Project is Elizabeth Williams of Arlington Heights. Here is an excerpt of her story:
"In the early part of November I got gout in a finger and an infection that caused the nail to be removed by surgery. I was off work for three weeks and had to go to the hospital every day for IV antibiotics.
"At home, my mom takes amazing, loving care of me by soaking and cleaning my finger and handling the bandaging and the doctor visits. Just her being here makes me heal faster and I couldn't do this without her.
"I see in her eyes how she tries to hide the pain/hurt she feels for me. For the first time that I can remember, I can't buy her a Christmas gift and take her to dinner. I feel terrible. She's my everything.
"With the Believe Project I have hope."
• The Believe Project is awarding at least $100 each day in December to people with good ideas for how to use the money to do a good deed for someone else.
