'An incredible venture': Elk Grove mayor's final diary from the Bahamas Bowl

We're on the field after a very exciting Makers Wanted Bahamas Bowl.

It's been an incredible venture for the community. The exposure has been far better than we expected. Of course with this logo right in the middle of the field, millions of people had nothing to do but watch "Makers Wanted Elk Grove Village Illinois."

We know it was a great time back in Elk Grove. We had Real Time Sports filled there during the game. Here it went well. What can we say but two thumbs-up for the inaugural 2018 Makers Wanted Bahamas Bowl. We'll be coming home soon.

• Editor's Note: Elk Grove Village Mayor Craig Johnson sent a daily journal from Nassau, Bahamas, site of the Makers Wanted Bahamas Bowl that was played Friday. The village spent $300,000 to sponsor the college game, which uses the village's business marketing tagline.
