Believe Project: Prospect Heights resident wants to pass $100 on to sister with cancer

Today's recipient of a $100 bill through the Believe Project is Chris Stanke of Prospect Heights. Here is an excerpt of her story:

"I would like to give $100 to my sister.

"Earlier this year she found out she had stage 4 lung cancer. She went through chemo and radiation.

"She recently found out the cancer has spread to her liver and she doesn't have much time left. She has two children and a grandson.

"The saddest part about this is my niece and nephew lost their father in a car accident nine years ago on Dec. 3. Now they are going to lose their mother, too. We are all praying she makes it to Christmas so we can celebrate together one more time."

• The Believe Project is awarding at least $100 each day in December to people with good ideas for how to use the money to do a good deed for someone else.
