Batavia Dance Teams give back with annual Kick-A-Thon

Batavia's varsity and junior varsity dance teams took time out of their busy competition season for some philanthropic good cheer. The teams raised more than $2,600 for their annual Kick-A-Thon on Friday, Dec. 14, during the home basketball games.

Funds benefitted the Batavia United Way's Adopt-A-Family program, supporting local families in need during the holiday season by providing gifts and supplies.

Dance team members sought donations through sponsors for their halftime kick line, where they performed a special holiday routine and were joined by many of the 58 sponsors for 100 kicks.

Sponsors included district faculty and staff, alumni, friends and family.

The annual Kick-A-Thon is one of many ways the Batavia High School dance teams give back to the community.
