ENCLAVE Honors Luminary Leaders from Elk Grove Village

On Thursday, December 13, ENCLAVE for Entrepreneurs hosted an event honoring individuals from Elk Grove Village who earned prestigious awards and recognition in their fields.

At the event John Dallas, CEO of ENCLAVE, unveiled, the new "Luminary Leader of the Year" award was unveiled, as a way for the ENCLAVE to recognize and celebrate exceptional leadership in the community.

The first "Luminary Leader of the Year" was awarded to Mayor Craig B. Johnson, for his continued pursuit of innovation. Just this year, Mayor Johnson has led the Village in launching Elk Grove Village Cares, a first of its kind community-based program to address the disease of opioid addiction; and sponsoring the Makers Wanted Bahamas Bowl, a marketing campaign which has elevated the Village's presence on the national and international stage.

The event also honored the many luminary leaders who have been recognized in their fields, including Illinois Principal of the Year Paul Kelly and Illinois Teacher of the Year Ricky Castro of Elk Grove High School; National Superintendent of the Year David Schuler of Township High School District 214; and Fire Chief of the Year Richard Mikel of Elk Grove Village. Attendees heard thoughtful and inspiring reflections from the honorees about what it is like to be on the receiving end of such recognition and accolades.
