Sawyer, Stevenson get back on winning track

Freshman guard Simone Sawyer sank four 3-pointers and led all scorers with 20 points, leading host Stevenson to a 50-44 win over visiting Waubonsie Valley in nonconference girls basketball action on Saturday.

Avery King added 17 points (two 3-pointers) for the Patriots, who snapped a three-game losing streak and improved to 7-3. Nikki Ware tallied 11 points (two 3s) for Stevenson. Sawyer went 8 of 11 from the foul line.
