House fire breaks out on west side of Elk Grove Village

Elk Grove Village firefighters responded to a house fire on the far west side of town Friday afternoon.

The structure fire at a house on Kentucky Lane is in a residential neighborhood south of Nerge Road and west of Meacham Road. It remained an active scene, but the fire is under control, Elk Grove officials reported at 2:39 p.m. on the village Facebook page.

All of the occupants are out of the house and safe, officials added.

Firefighters were continuing to work on overhaul activities.
