Prospect, St. Viator notch wins

Sam Murray scored 20 points Friday night to lead Prospect's boys basketball team to a 52-43 Mid-Suburban East win over Elk Grove.

Ben Zellmer added 14 points for the Knights, who moved to 4-3 and 2-0 with the win.

Ryne Singsank led Elk Grove (2-6, 0-2) with 15 points and Tim Varga added 8.

St. Viator 60, Marian Central 26: Connor Kochera had 13 points and Jeremiah Hernandez 11 as the Lions (7-1, 1-0) won in the East Suburban Catholic. Trey Calvin added 9 points for St. Viator.

Deerfield 46, Maine West 37: Jared Pearson had 10 points for Maine West (3-3, 1-1) in its Central Suburban North loss.

South Beloit 47, Christian Liberty 41: In the Northeastern Athletic Conference, Breckin Aiello led Christian Liberty (1-6, 0-2) with 14 points.
