Lake County jail water plan:
Water will be shut off at the Lake County jail Saturday morning as part of the ongoing construction at the facility, officials said. The water will be turned on Sunday evening, Dec. 9. The move is needed to allow contractors to add new shut-off valves in the facility, due to the remodeling of the booking area. Inmates will be provided with bottled drinking water, and additional water will be made available to any inmate requesting it. Arrangements are also in place to ensure inmates have water for personal hygiene and for toilets to be flushed. Lake County Sheriff John Idleburg said he intends to be transparent with facility improvements, and any updates will be shared in advance through the media or on the sheriff's website at lakecountyil.gov, and social media pages.
