Symbolism in red

There is a brouhaha over the White House Christmas decor chosen by Melania Trump.

I have come to the conclusion that the blood-red trees are, in truth, deeply symbolic of the increasing debt of the U.S. government resulting from tax cuts for the rich and Trump's inability to control his spending, which is generously supported by a blank check from the U.S. taxpayers and the Republican Congress.

Does the GOP deliberately cause these deficits in order to have a reason to blast the Democrats, who then try to pay down the red ink? If memory serves, that is exactly the play book. The question is, does the GOP care about the Nation at all? Or is holding power to benefit their corporate donors the end-all, be-all? Will we ever see an end to the disastrous concept of trickle down economics?
