Progressive left is dangerous

As conservatives, we used to be able to have good-faith arguments with liberals about the direction of our country. We believed in the same core principles of liberty that our country was founded upon. We disagreed on how much our government should intervene in our affairs, but we mostly agreed that there had to be limits on the far reach of government.

As the progressive leftists have taken over the Democratic Party from the liberals, we have entered a dangerous time. Demagoguery and socialist tactics now rule. If you believe in a strong border and the virtue of the American model of government you are a racist. If you believe in traditional values you are homophobic. If you believe in the Second Amendment and gun rights, you don't care about gun violence. If you have conservative views, that is hate speech not free speech, and I could go on and on.

Notice and be aware of the tactics these socialists use to demand you follow their way of thinking. It is certainly not the healthy debate we have had in America between the liberal and conservative viewpoints, which usually results in preserving our democracy.
